- Advancing Metabolic Care at THE WEEK Metabolic Health Summit

Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev delivered a lecture titled “One Pathway, Multiple Possibilities: Transforming Care Across Conditions” at THE WEEK Metabolic Health Summit 2026, organised by THE WEEK, a Manorama publication, with the support of Novo Nordisk, at Hyatt Regency, Thiruvananthapuram, on October 6, 2026.
The summit brought together senior government officials, healthcare leaders, and clinicians from across Kerala. In his lecture, Dr. Jothydev highlighted the expanding therapeutic role of original innovator rDNA semaglutide beyond glucose lowering and weight management, with emerging benefits across cardiovascular, kidney, and other cardiometabolic conditions. He also drew attention to Kerala’s growing burden of obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and related complications, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and timely intervention to reduce long-term health and economic consequences.
The programme provided an important platform for strengthening awareness on integrated metabolic health and translating advances in therapy into everyday clinical practice.
