The new GLP-1 analogues are introduced in the West and
will be available in India also soon Do you think it will be safe or we need
to wait for 4 to 5 years to say for sure thay are safe?

It is left to individual Physicians.Rosiglitazone
controversy has taught us many lessons on use of newer drugs. Exenatide
belongs to a new class of drugs called Incretins with promises of weight
loss and avoidance of hypos. The undesirable adverse effect of nausea and
vomiting are the main limiting factors.We have to wait and see how
beneficial these drugs are going to be compared to the already available
safe and time tested anti hyperglycemic drugs.
