Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, the renowned research diabetologist from Kerala, was awarded with the prestigious
Prof. Sam G.P. Moses Oration at the TRAC 2024 Tamil Nadu Chapter RSSDI Annual Conference in Chennai. His oration,
titled "My Quarter-Century with Diabetes Technology: Lessons from the Frontlines," reflected on his 25 years of
research work in diabetes care and technology.
Addressing a distinguished audience of over 1000 registered doctors from Tamil Nadu and across India,
Dr. Kesavadev's oration showcased his profound contributions to diabetes management. Dr. Kesavadev was bestowed
this award in recognition of his phenomenal contributions to devising cost-effective diabetes technology solutions,
thus preventing expensive complications. Notably, Dr. Kesavadev introduced insulin pumps and continuous glucose
monitoring (CGM) in diabetes management in 2004 in India.
As the founder of the Diabetes Telemanagement System (DTMS'?), a revolutionary telemedicine platform in practice
since 1997, Dr. Kesavadev has been at the forefront of advancing cost-effective and personalized diabetes care.
His system integrates dose titration, consultations on diet, exercise, and lifestyle adjustments into routine care,
helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals while minimizing risks such as hypoglycemia and preventing
long-term complications.
