January 18, 2013: Indo-British Diabetes Summit - Taj Coramandel, Chennai
The Indo-British Diabetes Summit was held on the 18th and 19th of January 2013, at the Taj Coromandel, Chennai. It was organised by the collaborative efforts of IBHI and the British Deputy High Commission, Chennai, to take on the challenge of dealing with the dramatic increase of diabetes in India and in the UK. Dr.Mohan V and Vijay Viswanathan, eminent diabetologists in India coordinated the summit.

Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev was an invited speaker at the summit and lectured in a debate supporting: "Use of Insulin Pumps in Diabetes". Dr.A Aseervatham spoke for the topic. Dr.Vijay Viswanathan moderator of the session, concluded with the remarks on intelligent selection of patients and pumps as a very cost effective tool for any patient on insulin for it cuts down future expenses of treating the complications of diabetes. The event attracted leading experts from across all verticals of the diabetes domain, and served as a platform for the participants to discuss long-term solutions for diabetes based issues and concerns. The event was also attended by a large delegation of experts from the UK, including members from the government, academia, research and business.The event included over 600 registrations and 200+ online participants.
