5th National Insulin Summit with the motto ‘Back to the Future: Insulin Therapy for Today and Tomorrow’ conducted under the auspices of the Indian College of Physicians (ICP) at Hyderabad on 15th & 16th October 2011 was marked with lectures by renowned specialists from India and overseas covering a wide array of topics related to the management of diabetes. On the first day,at the clinical practice workshop designed to help the medical fraternity keep their focus on the changing needs of the patients, Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev lectured for 1 hr on ‘Automated insulin delivery device systems’ detailing on the innovative techniques in insulin delivery with implantable insulin pumps and the artificial pancreas holding promises for the future. The session was marked by the presence of Dr. Philip Home and noted experts in the field of diabetes.
