November 29, 2014: JPEF World Diabetes Month Mini CME
Jothydev's Professional Education Forum(JPEF) Mini CME was organised by P. Kesavadev Trust and DiabetesIndia as part of World Diabetes Month at Residency Tower, Trivandrum. The CME This CME focussed on 3 aspects of diabetes management - Cardiology, Nephrology and early intensive diabetes treatment and was part of the global effort to alleviate the disease burden by enlightening the scientific community about the recent updates in all these 3 fields. JPEF CMEs are also meant for teaching, learning and sharing clinical experiences together. Dr. Shashi Tharoor inaugurated the CME and spoke on the felt need for intensive management of diabetes at the time of onset. Dr. Tiny Nair lectured on Cardiovascular Outcome trials and Dr.Geetha M Nair spoke on Incipient Diabetic Nephropathy. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev lectured on 'Emerging Role of Early Intensive Regimens'. The sessions were chaired by Dr. Arun Shankar. The lectures were followed by active discussions on unscientific therapies, newer molecules for effective management of diabetes etc. Dr. Thomas Titus, Dr. Chacko Varghese, Dr. Vasudevan Potty etc. actively interacted.
