Special lecture by Ms.Rebecca Vitale, 2nd year medical student from Yale University, USA was the highlight of the Type 1 Diabetes Special workshop organized by Jothydev's Diabetes Research Center at Sabari Park, Poojaapura, Trivandrum. A research trainee at JDC, Ms.Vitale described narrated her painstaking experience of living with diabetes since the age of 7 and how it triggered the researcher in her. Her lecture inspired the type 1 gathering on how this disorder can be made into a strength than a disability. An exciting quiz session followed by discussion on diet by Ms. Geethu Sanal(Chief Dietitian,JDC) and lectures by Dr. Arun Shankar (Consultant, JDC) and Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev made the session a worthy experience. Noted film actor Maniyan Pillai Raju was the chief guest and distributed prizes to winners of diabetes quiz program.
