P.Kesavadev Trust-Type 1 Diabetes Sweet Stars (KT1DP) and Kerala Type 1 Diabetic Welfare Society, jointly organized a virtual Educational event in the context of World Diabetes Month, on 29th November 2020. The 2 hr program covered topics such as Type 1: How to shape the mind?, How to maintain happiness in life forever, Food and some simple calculations, When to start newer technologies? Many Type-1 stars volunteered themselves and shared their experience on technologies and their mental struggles. The dynamic participation of patients, their family along with experts made the event a success.

The pinnacle of the program was the session on mental health of patients as well as their family by Mr.Santhosh Sisupal. Ms.Sunitha Jothydev also spoke on coping skills in type 1 diabetes. The experts from Jothydev’s Diabetes Research Centre, Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev, Dr.Arun Shankar, Ms.Gopika Krishnan, Dr.Ashwin David Ashok, Dr.Sajna Shijin, Ms.Geethu Sanal and Ms.Viji Krishna engaged in the program.

Mr.Abdul Jaleel, Secretary of Kerala Type 1 Diabetic Welfare Society delivered the welcome address. The event was formally inaugurated by Mr.Vijesh TR, President, Kerala Type 1 Diabetic Welfare Society. This was followed by a discussion involving the experts. The program concluded with vote of thanks by Mr.Jeevan Jacob, State Treasurer of Kerala Type 1 Diabetic Welfare Society.
