Jothydev's Diabetes Research Centre (JDC) hosted a Patient Education Program, exclusively for Type 1 patients, above the age of 18, virtually on 19 March 2021 via zoom with 50 selected patients of the centre. The program was set off by Dr.Arun Shankar, Medical Director, JDC, with the welcome address. Subsequently Ms.Gopika Krishnan, Head of Academics, JDC, gave an introduction about JDC. Dr.Jothydev Kesavadev gave a comprehensive talk on Type 1 Diabetes, its management, insulin and technologies in diabetes. The session witnessed active participation of the patients in polls that were launched from time to time throughout the event. Dr.Sajna Shijin, Dr.Yaseen Unes, RSSDI Fellow,JDC, Ms.Geethu Sanal, Chief Dietician, JDC were also present to resolve the queries of the patients. Ms.Beena Chandran Clinical Research Coordinator also spoke. Several patients shared their experiences and appreciated the efforts put forward by the diabetes team of JDC in helping them manage their diabetes. Vote of thanks was by Dr.Arun Shankar.
