The JDC Patient Education Program September 2021 was hosted on 4 September 2021 virtually via Zoom. 150 selected patients of Jothydev Diabetes Research Centre (JDC) participated in the program. The program began with a welcome address by Mr. Jayapalan A Nair, Director of Operations, JDC. Dr. Arun Shankar, Medical Director, JDC, briefly spoke on 'diabetes management'. Ms. Geethu Sanal, chief dietitian JDC, addressed the patients and promoted the ‘National Nutrition Month’. This was followed by a talk on 'diet in diabetes' by Ms.Viji Krishna, dietitian, JDC. Dr.Sajna Shijin and Dr.Yaseen Unes spoke on injectables and medicine timings. Regular topics such as injection techniques, sensors and technology in diabetes, glucose monitoring techniques and follow-up were presented by diabetes nurses, Ms.Remya Jose, and Ms.Akhila Manoj respectively. Many patients shared their stories and expressed gratitude for the diabetes team's success in assisting them in managing their diabetes. The program was concluded by a vote of thanks, by Dr. Arun Shankar.
