A two-day conference D-TechCon, World Congress of Diabetes Technology, was held on 7 and 8 May 2022. Dr. Jothydev Kesavadev, Dr. Arun Shankar (Medical Director, JDC) and Ms. Gopika Krishnan (Director, Academics) participated in the conference.
On the first day of the conference, Dr. Jothydev spoke on ‘Noninvasive glucose monitoring: tattoos to contact lenses’ during the session ‘Futuristic Technologies’ chaired by Dr. Dhruvi Hasnani. Dr. Warren Lee (Singapore) and Dr. Jibin Chi (Sweden) were the other speakers of the session.
Dr. Arun Shankar was the chairperson of the session ‘Therapies of tomorrow’ along with Dr. Sanjay Reddy on 8 May 2022. Dr. Erica Nishimura (Denmark), Dr. Iryna Vlasenko (Ukrain) and Dr. Thomas Crabtree (UK) were the speakers of the session.
Dr. Jothydev moderated the session ‘Insulin pump school’ together with Dr. Saurabh Mishra. The speakers of the session were Dr. Debashish Das, Dr. Frida Sunbherg (Sweden), Dr. Pratik Chaudhary (UK) and Dr. Thomas Danne (Germany). He was also a panelist for the discussion titled ‘Future prospects and limitations of technology in diabetes care’ moderated by Dr. Manoj Chawla. Dr. Alok Gupta (UK) and Dr. Suresh Purohit (Mumbai) were the other panelists in the discussion.
The panel discussion entitled, ‘Diabetes technology in real life: when patients explore the frontiers’ was moderated by Ms. Gopika Krishnan. The panelists of the discussion included Ms. Jazz Sethi, Mr. Prashanth Mani and Mr. Sahil Madan.
